Hi, I'm Julia but you can call me Jules!
6 years ago, I started doing my nails at home because sitting in a salon chair for hours and spending loads of money gave me way too much anxiety. Plus, I have always been a DIY type of person and figured it's another thing to learn and work at.
Fast forward a few years, I got a lot better at nail art! I started an Instagram account where I logged my progress. My friends and family could see I was getting better and suggested I sell press ons.
In December 2022, I started making them as presents for friends and family. I thought about selling them to make money on the side, but had no concrete plans. And then January 22, 2023 happened... I got laid off from my full time job while planning a wedding. Talk about stressful!
Instead of having a total mental breakdown, I saw this as a sign from the universe. She said, "You've always wanted to be your own boss. You love making nails. This is your time!" And so on January 25th, I launched Gel & Jules and the rest is history!
